At the recent Construction Marketing Awards, SLG used its nomination as Agency of the Year to highlight the work of construction industry charity CRASH.
Each ‘Agency of the Year’ nominee was invited by organisers to produce a short promotional film, with SLG opting to use this platform to highlight CRASH’s work rather than its own.
By keeping production of the video in-house, SLG was able to deliver the work for the cost of some pro bono time and a few pieces of stock footage, using the funds that would’ve been needed for voiceovers, 3D etc to donate to CRASH.
CRASH works with the construction industry to help homelessness and hospice organisations with their construction projects, such as the building or refurbishment of hostels and day centres across the UK.
The charity is unique in the sector, in that it uses the professional expertise of architects, engineers, surveyors and contractors to assist with essential projects that can change the lives of some of the most vulnerable people in the UK.
Ryan Jones, Head of Client Services at SLG, said: “We’ve long been supporters of CRASH’s work and have wanted to do something more than just donate funds, but never found the right opportunity. The charity is synonymous with the CMAs, so the timing felt right, and we felt the video and donation were the perfect way to demonstrate our ‘Make a Difference’ ethos.”
